Postcard

What? Really?! Yes.

Remember the time you got a card from someone besides Christmas? If you do, you might be getting old… or have amazing friends! But nowadays people are sending less and less postcards. That’s why it gets more interesting for you to step up!

Here are some great idea’s to send out a postcard to your student/any aikidoka:

  • welcome to the dojo
  • on their birthday
  • with holidays (letting them know when you get started again)
  • we miss you card: when someone is out for a longer period of time
  • upcoming seminar (also nice for other dojo’s)
  • and many more… (think Hallmark)

Personalizing cards by handwriting are the best, because it’s personal and shows you are caring. Depending on your groupsize it also will be the most time consuming!

Of course you can send them a digital card via email, but it won’t be something special and memorable. There are online services that allow you to create your own card, and even send them. This will be interesting for little groups. Larger groups need a different approach.

For larger groups you could design a nice cover on the front, and on the back you can use a hand writing font (maybe even better; you can scan your letter without the <name>). This way you can print 50-1.000 pieces or more, and by writing their name it will still be more personal (if the quality of the scan/print is good of course). This will take less effort than writing each person a personal message.
